Danger of a backwards Fall

Danger of backwards Fall exists mostly if the person is in a squat position. Caused by unconsciousness (i.e. by dizziness), or consciously (i.e. by loosening a rope loop the has become caught on the ladder). In this squat position, the fall arrester is knee height and feet remain on the ladder rung. Unfavorable force conditions exist in this position and may cause the person to be pulled down, by their own weight, into an upside down position. In this upside down position, the back is pressed against the guide rail and the abdomen is clamped between the connecting point of the body harness and the guide rail.

This holds the fall arrester in an unlocked position. Therefor the person falls.
